Communion

This is a special time for your child who is now able to fully participate in the Eucharist. In Baptism your child has already become a new creation in Christ and a member of God’s holy people. Now your child will join the other baptised members of the church in the communion procession to receive Christ in the Eucharist.

In your child’s baptism you promised to educate your daughter/son in the practice of the faith. This is a wonderful opportunity to journey with your child as they make their First Holy Communion. You will be assisted on the journey by the parish, school and catechists.

Children in year 4 and above can receive their First Holy Communion after receiving their First Reconciliation.

• Parent/Carer Information Evening: 

  • Wednesday 19 August, 2026 5.00pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School Hall

• Commitment Mass (select one): 

  • Saturday 15 August, 2026 at 5.30pm at St Margaret Mary's Church

  • Saturday 15 August, 2026 at 6pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church

  • Sunday 16 August, 2026 at 10am and 12noon at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church

• Formation Sessions (for both parent and child): 

  • Wednesday 19 August 2026 at 5:30pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School Hall and 

  • Wednesday 2 September, 2026 at 5.30pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School Hall

• Sacrament of First Holy Communion (select one): 

  • Saturday 12 September at 5:30pm at St Margaret Mary's Church Randwick North OR

  • Saturday 12 September at 6pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church OR

  • Sunday 13 September at 10am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church OR

  • Sunday 13 September at 12 midday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church OR

  • Saturday 19 September at 6pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church OR

  • Sunday 20 September at 10am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church OR

  • Sunday 20 September at 12 midday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.

Please note the dates in your diary. Attendance to all events are compulsory. Inadequate attendance may result in differing the candidate to receiving the Sacrament in 2027.

There is an administrative and resources fee payable online during the registration process.
