Reconciliation

The sacrament of reconciliation (also known as confession) is celebrating God’s love and mercy.

Children in year 3 and above who are already baptised into the Catholic Church are welcome to start preparing for their first reconciliation.

They will learn about making good choices, nurturing good relationships and the importance of saying sorry and making peace.

The celebration of the sacrament will take the form of a communal service where we gather together to acknowledge God’s mercy and love. Within this communal service, each child will make their individual confession and receive absolution from the ministering priest.

Registration for 2023 is open now until 13 Feb.

Parents information session is on 15 Feb, 5.30pm at OLSH Church

Commitment mass is during weekend mass on 18 and 19 February.

Sacrament of reconciliation will be celebrated on 28 and 29 March.

Registration form can be found here

There will be $30 administrative fee to cover the material, payable through bank transfer. No child will ever be denied the opportunity to receive the Sacraments due to financial limitations. Families in difficult financial circumstances should contact the sacramental coordinator to discuss their situation confidentially.
