Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Confession) is a celebration of God’s love and mercy.

Children in Year 3 and above who are already baptised into the Catholic Church are welcome to start preparing for their First Reconciliation.

They will learn about making good choices, nurturing meaningful relationships and the importance of saying sorry and making peace with one another.

The celebration of the sacrament will take the form of a communal service where we gather together to acknowledge God’s mercy and love. Within this communal service, each child will make their individual confession and receive absolution from the ministering priest. 

Key dates for 2025 program are as below:

• Registration Period: 

  • Monday 8 September, 2025 - Monday 20 October, 2025

• Parent/Carer Information Evening: 

  • Wednesday 5 November, 2025 5.00pm

• Commitment Mass (select one): 

  • Saturday 25 October, 2025 at 5.30pm at St Margaret Mary's Church

  • Saturday 25 October, 2025 at 6pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church

  • Sunday 26 October, 2025 at 10am and 12noon at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church

• Formation Sessions (for both parent and child): 

  • Wednesday 5 November 2025 at 5:30pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School Hall and 

  • Wednesday 19 November, 2025 at 5.30pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School Hall

• Sacrament of Reconciliation Liturgy: 

  • Wednesday 26 November 2025  or 

  • Thursday 27 November, 2025

at 5.30pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church

Please note the dates in your diary. Attendance to all events are compulsory. Inadequate attendance may result in differing the candidate to receiving the Sacrament in 2026.

There is an administrative and resources fee payable online during the registration process.
