May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.
The parish of Randwick is under the pastoral care of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC). This religious society was founded in France in 1854 by Jules Chevalier MSC. Fr. Chevalier saw in the devotion to the Sacred Heart an antidote to the modern-day evils of his time. Today, as we confront the evils of our own time, the vision of Chevalier, which centres on the redemptive love of Christ, shows us a more compassionate and just way of life.
Alongside of Devotion to the Sacred Heart, we also speak of a Spirituality of the heart. “Spirituality of the Heart leads us from our own hearts to the pain and suffering of the world in which we live. We are called to be God’s Heart on Earth and to offer ourselves to be used as source of healing for the wounds of the world. We believe, as did Chevalier that this love is the remedy for the ills of the world.”
