  + Who We Are
  Fr Peter Hearn msc

Father Peter Hearn msc

Fr Peter Hearn msc began his role as parish priest of OLSH and SMM on the 28th of January 2009. Previously he was at Treand House at Coogee as Assistant to the Provincial of the MSC order. Prior to that he has been at Willoughby, Beijing, Kensington Monastery, Darwin, Belgium, Towoomba and Canberra. He grew up in Yambuk in Victoria and was ordained in 1976. Fr Peter says that "The Parish of OLSH-SMM has exceptionally generous and dedicated people. One major area of development has been the out-reach to the Pacific MSC-OLSH Mission area of Kiribati, thanks to the Friends of Kensigton Monastery and their close connection with this parish, and their support of the MSC Mission Office. Our connections with this poor Nation began in 1885 when OLSH Parish Randwick was established as a base to supply the new MSC Mission there. This, among other activities, helps our parish be outward looking - and missionary."

Fr Bill Brady msc

Fr Bill was ordained at St Patrick's Smithtown on the Lower Macleay area of the mid-north coast of NSW in 1975. His first appointment was to St Peter Chanel Minor Seminary in East New Britian, Papua New Guinea. Due to illness, Fr Bill returned to Australia and ended up at Chevalier College, Bowral. By 1982, he had received his first appointment to a parish - Kippax in the ACT. This was followed by a long spell at Downlands College, Toowoomba from 1983 to 1989. In mid 1989, Fr Bill arrived in Darwin where he worked part time at St John's College while completing a degree at U.N.T. His first appointment as a Parish Priest was at St Paul's Nightcliff. From 2002-2004 Fr Bill was at Henley Beach Parish in Adelaide, followed by five years on loan to the Townsville Diocese. While there, he was stationed at Hughenden, Winton and Richmond for three years and Bowen for two years. He returned to Hindmarsh Parish Adelaide in 2010 as Parish Priest and remained there until his arrival in Randwick in mid 2019. Apart from Rugby League and Rugby in general, Fr Bill says he doesn't have too many interests, but loved coaching in his day and was a keen Wests fan in their heyday as the Magpies. Being from the country, Fr Bill says he has always enjoyed travelling through farm lands which he did often while in Adelaide. Fr Bill hopes to get involved in parish discussion groups focused on justice issues, a topic that has always been important to him.

Fr Peter Antony msc

Fr Peter Antony is from Kerala, India and was ordained in 2017. Fr Antony says that he knew little of the MSC order as they only arrived in India in 1985, but when he first enquired about their mission, felt attracted to their ways of serving God by sharing the message of his love to everyone. After entering the seminary in Bengaluru in 2003, he completed concurrent Bachelor studies in Philosophy and Theology at CMI college, and later a Bachelor of Arts in a Jesuit college. During his studies, Fr Antony had a number of former Randwick priests as tutors, including Fr Joshua and Fr Prasad. Following his ordination in 2017, he worked in one of the Dioceses in Kerala until February 2018. Fr Antony arrived in Australia in 2018 and has since become involved in many areas of Parish life including the Young Adults group and hospital ministry.
